Who am I?
Hi, my name is Jimmy and I’ve been cooking for decades, which makes me feel really old as I type that (and my kids love to remind me of my oldness!). I discovered the art of smoking a little over 10 years ago and have been rolling smoke ever since!
New Creation Food was born out of a desire to share knowledge and stories. The name has multiple meanings…
For starters, by the grace of God and through faith in His son Jesus, I am a New Creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)! What amazing, unbelievable news!
Secondly, my desire is to help you create new memories and experiences with your family and friends.
Why should you take advice from me?
Heck, maybe you shouldn’t!? I’m the furthest from an expert you will find. However, I am a firm believer that we all have something to share with others. If you are a beginner and have been doing something 2 days, you can share with someone who has been doing it 1 day. That thought process applies to pretty much every facet of life.
I grew up with my mother cooking amazing Italian dishes and my father mastering an old-as-dirt Weber Genesis gas grill which probably still works to this day. Outside of that, I am primarily self-taught; learning through Google searches, YouTube videos, and lots of hours cooking and BBQing!
I’ve learned countless lessons along the way and things I wish I had known way earlier. My hope and prayer is that something I share will be helpful.
